MS Girls BB Update

On Monday, November 16th the middle school girls basketball team traveled to Ell-Saline. The Gorillas varsity won 35-25.

Coach Seidl had this to say about the game, “I felt that the girls came out with a good game plan and executed it.  For the first game it was good to see an improved mindset and commitment to getting the job done!  Kiera Smith had a really good game on the offensive and defensive ends.  Scored 13 points and after half we went to a box and 1 defense to shut down their best player and it obviously worked.  Really proud of all the girls and we look forward to our first home game on Thursday night!”

Then on Thursday, November 19th the Gorillas played against Elyria Christian at home. The Varsity lost in a close one with the score of 22-25.

Coach Seidl said this about the game, “I was really pleased to see how we fought back from a 9 point deficit in the 3rd to make it interesting at the end.  They just hit more free throws and we had some untimely turnovers that led to our defeat.  We will pick ourselves up and get ready for the next one @ Goessel on Monday.  The girls did a much better job of rebounding on both ends of the floor tonight.  Lacie McLaughlin and Maya Newcomer really did a nice job of rebounding and scoring in the paint.  We will continue to work on our perimeter shooting and limiting turnovers.”

The next game for the middle school basketball teams will be Monday, November 23rd at Goessel. The games will be live streamed by Goessel on their YouTube channel. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u00AeSUMMq0&feature=youtu.be
