On Friday, December 4th the Solomon Gorillas took on the Burrton Chargers. The Gorillas played the Burrton Chargers and won 68-33. When we asked Coach Johnson his thoughts on the game he said, “it was a great first game.”
The Lady Gorillas also played Burrton and won 47-37. Coach Douglas said this about the game "We got off to a little bit of a slow start in the first quarter but picked it up going forward. The girls played some of their best basketball in the 4th quarter. The team played together and focused on getting the ball inside and being aggressive once it was there. We need to clean up some things on defense including rebounding before our next game. Overall, I was very happy with our performance for the first game of the year." The girls were led in scoring by Emma Seidl with 19 points. They had 3 girls score in double figures with Libby Ledet with 10 points & 13 rebounds and Tyra Thompson with 10 points as well.
