Last week, we turned our school into a mini barnyard as elementary students got to meet some extraordinary animal guests!

Meet the lineup: Maple and Peggy the charismatic chickens, Minnie, Pearl, and BB the delightful donkeys, Black Jack the mischievous bucket calf, Hot Rod and Dewey the majestic horses, and Noodle and Zeke the coolest snakes in town—all patiently teaching our students about their world.

Their handlers? A dream team of community members, school staff, and students!

"I am so glad the kids enjoyed their time at Kiddy Barnyard. The FFA Members and I really enjoyed seeing the students' smiling faces as they saw all the different animals. My favorite part is when Hotrod the Horse was making goofy faces at the kids. We are excited to host more FFA events in the future!" - Junior Gonzalez, student facilitator

With sunshine overhead and excitement in the air, students discovered new ways to think about pets (who says snakes can’t be snuggly?!).

"Kiddy Barnyard was a highlight of the school year. I really enjoyed watching my students talk about animals they are passionate about. The students also did a great job making sure rotations were on time and getting the younger students where they needed to be. A true highlight was watching the younger students conquer fears by holding a snake. We are already looking forward to this event next year!" - Reanna Dunlap, High School Instructor

A huge thank you to our Ag teacher and FFA sponsor, Reanna Dunlap and her team for making this interactive experience possible!
