On Tuesday, September 1st the Solomon Gorillas HS volleyball team traveled to Sacred Heart High School in Salina, Kansas to play a duel. The varsity team played twice and the JV played twice against the Sacred Heart Knights. The Gorillas lost all 4 matches in 2 sets.
When Coach Anderson was asked about what she was most proud about from Tuesday she said, “I have to say I was proud of how we played the second match, especially the first set. We always talk about having a winning mentality, even if we don't win & I think they really showed heart, effort & the will to win, even if we didn't.” We also asked her what her team will work on in the next couple days to prepare for next Tuesday and her response was, “We are going to be working on our communication with our out of system balls, as well as consistency with setting & hitting to prepare for our next game.”
The Gorillas will be at home against Centre, Herington, and Rural Vista on Tuesday, September 8th. It is also senior night! The matches will be live streamed on the Solomon High School Sports Network YouTube channel.
