Summer Meals start Tuesday, May 28th from 11:00-12:30 at the Walnut St entrance. The cafeteria will be open Mondays through Thursdays. To Go meals will be offered again this year. Parents and legal guardians, and siblings can pick up meals without the child/ren being present. All meals are FREE for ages 1 to 18 years of age. Please read the flyers for more details.


Congratulations to our state qualifiers Jake Sommer and Spencer Coup. Spencer ended with a 2nd place medal. Our team worked hard and got 4th place and Andrew Gray got a PR of 111.

We are out of days! Jake Sommer rounds out our Senior Spotlights on the eve of graduation day! Jake has signed with the National Guard. He will attend Basic this summer and AIT in the fall. He will then head to K-State in the fall to study Mechanical Engineering.

1 Day Left! Montana Collins is headed back to Salina Tech. After working on his Diesel Technician certificate for the last two years, he will complete his associates degree. Mac interned at CAT during his junior summer and hopes to find a job as a diesel mechanic while completing his degree. Just to clarify, here is the corrected text:
"Only one day left! Montana Collins is returning to Salina Tech to complete his associate's degree in Diesel Technology, which he has been working on for the past two years. During his junior summer, Mac interned at CAT and he hopes to secure a job as a Diesel Mechanic while finishing his degree."

Senior Spotlight: There are only two days left! Sam Owens is looking forward to working and playing baseball this summer. He will be headed back to Salina Tech this fall to complete his certificate in Auto Body Restoration and Paint. After that, he plans to work for a while and decide if he would like to go back to school in the future.

With three days to go, today's senior spotlight is on Dakota Rice. Dakota plans to move to Herington and work in the welding field. He also plans to own a farm and have a job in manufacturing.

Solomon golf had a great day at league in Hesston. We had five PR's and a team best score of 365 earning our team a runner-up for league. For PR's we had Carlos Duran 114, Andrew Gray 110, Porter Hynes 99, Breken Coup 95, and Spencer Coup with a new school record of 74.

With four days left before graduation, Porter Hynes is your Senior Spotlight today! Porter is undecided about where he is going and plans to work and make some money this summer. He is still deciding which military branch he wants to join but is leaning towards the National Guard.

The kindergarteners loved making & eating ice cream with their 9th grade mentors today!

We started out celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week with a special treat for all staff members. We want to give a huge thank you to Smart Insurance for generously sponsoring lunch from a local food truck and handing out drinks to go with the delicious food. Thank you, teachers, for all that you do, and thank you to our local business partners who made this possible!


After achieving high placings at district events, a few students got to compete at State FFA Career Development Events!
🎖 Elizabeth Ohl placed 109th out of 207 contestants in the Floriculture contest!
🏅Brooklyn Brozek was our top placer in the Equine evaluation, finishing 214 out of 167!
🎖Lacie McLaughlin placed 47th out of 300 students in the Vet Science section! We placed 38th out of 82 as a team. Vet Science is the hardest contest in the FFA program, as it includes a conversion exam, information exam, identification test, and a lab practicum.

Damon Gaskins is excited that summer is right around the corner so he can sleep in! There are five more days until graduation. Damon currently attends Kansas State Salina Polytechnic College two times per week and is obtaining a certificate for front-end web design and development. After high school, he plans to study computer programming and continue attending K-State Salina.
