5th grade activity to help “see” the lunar phases and learn them

As the school year has started, we have noticed some significant challenges. The safety of our students during drop-off times before and after school is very critical.
In the first two weeks of school, we have had close encounters on three occasions. We are very fortunate that no one was hurt. We have implemented a cross guard at three locations. Thanks to our high school Junior and Senior students volunteering their time. GREAT TO GIVE BACK!
Please help us by following the changes on the map below.
1. All EAST parking after school will drive South and NOT turn at the Pine/7th Street intersection.
2. Parents or community members picking up on 7th street (JH students), all traffic will flow EAST to WEST. Please use 6th street to come up Pine and turn WEST onto 7th Street. This allows all passenger doors to face the school.
3. Williams Street Pick-up/Drop Off (Elem students)-- ONLY a RIGHT turn allowed; please do NOT come back to 7th street unless you are picking up a JH student.
4. Students and community members, please only cross the road at the crosswalks.
The safety of our students is the FIRST priority. Help us in keeping everyone safe. If you have any questions, please feel free to let us know.
Sincerely,
Justin Coup, Superintendent

Happy “Fun Friday” from First Grade! Today our activity was “out of this world!” We created some aliens and flew them around in their spaceships. It was a blast! 👽🪐🚀

We will livestream the SHS FB game tonight vs. Rural Vista at 7pm. The cell signal and our hotspot will determine if the stream is viable. We hope it is strong enough to stream. The game will stream at the following link: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCeR4FSvw8pqEGilzz2UjLHg

Mrs. Romeisers Kindergarten learned what their school counselor does by building a Mrs. Potato head. School Counselors listen, teach us to use kind words, and lend a helping hand. They also wear a lot of hats, just like Mrs. Potato Head!

Cross country's first meet is tomorrow, 9/1, at the Abilene golf course. 6/7 girls at 4 pm followed by 6/7 boys, 8 girls, 8 boys, HS girls, and HS boys. We kicked off the season with a team meal and movie. Come out and support our runners tomorrow afternoon!

The high school volleyball matches this evening will be live-streamed by Sacred Heart at the following link: https://www.sacredheartknights.org/vnews/display.v/ART/620eb9fc33775

Great kickoff to Gorilla Robotics season today. Very grateful to Wichita State University for hosting such a great opportunity. This years event is going to have some interesting challenges for our students.

Our 3rd graders are our “Array” of Sunshine!! We started learning about multiplication and repeated addition by using arrays!

Second grade has had a great week on top of creating matshmallow dinosaurs, and learning how to work as a team, they also got to meet the construction crew and they made cards to thank them for working so hard.

Me. Romeiser’s kindergarteners practiced using scissors, glue, & crayons to make monster puppets. They used them to practice their speaking and listening skills. #gorillapride

Happy “Fun Friday,” from First Grade! Todays activity was a big hit with the kids! We had a great time making some colorful spinners. 🌀
P.S- watch out parents, they think they might be able to hypnotize you with these! 😵💫😉
