RE: Confirmation of Positive Case
Dear Solomon Gorilla Families,
Today, Solomon Schools was notified by the Dickinson County Health Department that a student at USD 393 Solomon has tested positive for COVID-19.
Per our established protocol, we have temporarily closed off all areas of the building that the individual used in the past several days so that we can thoroughly clean and disinfect the spaces, which was made easier due to the Labor Day Holiday. We are also in contact with the Dickinson County Department of Health and will take the steps necessary to protect the health of our students and staff. The individual who has tested positive for COVID-19 will not be allowed to return to school for at least 10 days.
The symptoms of COVID-19 are similar to the regular seasonal influenza and include fever, coughing, and shortness of breath. Some have reported additional symptoms, such as a runny nose, sore throat, nausea, lethargy, lack of appetite, vomiting, fever, chills, loss of smell, loss of taste, and diarrhea. Individuals who need medical care should call their medical provider to report their illness prior to seeking care at a clinic, physician’s office, or hospital. Parents of students exhibiting flu-like symptoms or staff exhibiting flu-like symptoms are asked to contact a school nurse, local health authorities or the Dickinson County Department of Health.
We are closely monitoring this situation and will provide you with updates as we know more. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
Justin Coup
Solomon Schools
Superintendent

Sorry to our fans that hoped to watch the livestream. The cell signal in White City isn’t strong enough to sustain a connection to stream the game. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. The issues are beyond our control.

Happy “Fun Friday” from Mrs. Rizzo’s 1st Grade! We had a great time making coffee filter rainbows. They were all proud of how their projects turned out. ♥️🌈

We have finished the first 1.5 weeks of school, what a SUCCESS it was! Proud of our students & staff. Parents, please remember to drop off no earlier than 7:45am. Take advantage of the free meal program too. Have a great Labor Day weekend! #GorillaProud

The middle school volleyball games will be live streamed this evening on the "Solomon High School Sports Network" YouTube channel. If you can't make it to the matches take the opportunity to watch them play on YouTube.

USD 393 students will now receive FREE breakfast and lunches for the remainder of the SEMESTER. USDA along with KSDE approved funds to help all families as we continue back to school. All students enrolled at USD 393 will now be able to receive FREE meals, including those who have chosen the remote learning environment. This is a great opportunity for our students and a great savings for all families at Solomon and across Kansas. We have updated the necessary applications and have been approved to provide this great service.
