Gorilla Grapplers made their debut at the Junction City Invitational today. Tough wrestlers from all over Kansas and Nebraska. The men and ladies held their own and made personal gains. Mackenzie Blair dominated the lady's JV #115 bracket, undefeated for the win.

Several first graders earned a whole group office celebration for working hard on their readers' theater with Mrs. Rizzo. These kiddos are becoming strong, independent readers--their futures look bright!!
Congratulations to Mr. Johansen's MS SSAG group for earning the challenge trophy. All MS students were challenged to keep their locker locked and organized. This last week, 1 locker from each SSAG group was selected to be checked each day. At the end of Thursday, 3 SSAG groups were in the running for the trophy. The teachers of those groups competed in a competition to determine the final winner!
Congratulations to these outstanding students, Owen Westhead, Ty Harris, Jayden Bronson, and Bryan Hamlett for passing their recent ServSafe Manager Certification test! This certification opens doors to many opportunities after high school, paving the way for a future in the culinary and restaurant industry.
This is just one of the many industry-valued and recognized skills that Solomon High School offers to students that help them transition to higher education or the professional environment! 🦍

Some roads are clothes shut in the country. For those coming from Salina due to several stuck cars from last night wreckers are on highway 40 pulling people out this morning. I would use interstate or country club. our bus drivers will be contacting parents if they are unable to run the route today. 90% of the roads are travelable, however if you wish to keep your child home today please call the office. Jennifer will be in the office at 8:00 a.m. to take your calls.
Due to the high winds we already have roads in our area difficult to pass. With the forecasted windchill and the roads, we will start at 10:00am on Friday, Jan. 19th. We want to give our bus drivers daylight and the ability to communicate with parents as they begin the routes tomorrow. Doors will open at 9:30am tomorrow. Dress warm Gorillas!
