Thank you Mr. Ines from IKEducation for coming to teach students about Code Talkers! Yesterday we learned how the Native Americans contributed to World War II by using their native language and turning it into a code. Students raced to decode the secret message as fast as they could!

🔸 Don't forget to send your kiddos to school in orange this THURSDAY in honor of Unity Day and Bullying Prevention Month! 🔸The goal of Unity Day is to bring together everyone across the nation to emphasize the message that bullying is not acceptable and that all students deserve to be safe in school, online, and in the community 🔸Not only is orange identified with October and the autumn season, but It is also a color that is associated with safety and visibility. It is a color described as warm and inviting, and its vibrancy makes an impactful statement. 🔸 The simple act of wearing orange shows that youth experiencing bullying are not alone. The goal of wearing and sharing orange is to empower those who are bullied, and everyone around them, to speak up and reach out with kindness, acceptance, and inclusion.

This week Mrs. Livingston's Pre-K students are exploring and learning about pumpkins! Not only did they get to touch and smell the pumpkins, but they also discovered that pumpkins float. In a few days, they will get to count the pumpkin seeds and give them a taste! 🎃

Health Career Awareness day was held at Salina Regional Health Center today. 5 juniors attended workshops on many different levels of specialties. From highly specialized medical degrees and nursing to tech jobs and on the job training available to HS graduates. Students are then encouraged to narrow down interests and select a department they would like to job shadow during their Junior or senior year. Is your student interested in a career in health sciences ? Have them visit with Mrs Howard about how they can get started working towards a future in health sciences.
