This week, Mrs. Befort and Mr. Riordan combined the 6th grade Earth Science and Social Studies classes for a cross-curricular Battleship competition.
Befort explained why the activity is helpful for both classes. “In order to read a lot of maps you have to know latitude and longitude. This just gets them practicing saying it correctly, and they like the tournament aspect of it.”
“We try to get together to play battleship to hit on both subjects at the same time, and to give them a fun game and a creative atmosphere,” Riordan said.

The Solomon High School Band did an outstanding job representing Solomon this morning at the state fair. The kids marched well and played great. Now they are rewarded with a little Chick Fil A and then a day at the fair. Geat job to all of these students!

The Lady Gorillas finished our home invitational with a second place finish! They fell to Ell-Saline 30-32 & 19-25 and move to 8-5 on the season. Great job girls! We are very proud of you!
