Johansen and students at wrestling practice

Solomon High School is thrilled to announce the introduction of wrestling for its students for the first time in recent history. The debut wrestling meet is scheduled for December 7th at Chase County. Coach Johansen, newly appointed to the Solomon Middle School staff this year, is enthusiastic about starting the season. “I’m excited to give students new opportunities and the experience of a new atmosphere within athletics,” expressed Johansen. He believes that wrestling, being both a team and individual sport, presents a unique experience for students. The team comprises eight students, evenly split with four boys and four girls. While this marks Johansen’s first year as a head wrestling coach, his background in wrestling since the age of four instills confidence in him as he eagerly anticipates their first jamboree.
