update

The Board of Education met last evening to discuss the masking situation moving forward.  I was able to meet with all students 5-12 today and inform them why the decision was made.  Many times we don't explain the reasons we make decisions that impact students on a daily basis and today we took the time to explain why.  As well we went over the information below with all students.

Our staff received their second round of shots Friday.  In two weeks,  staff will be fully vaccinated.  The first change will then start to happen.  The final goal is to remove masks for the final five days of school.  The first day being play day (field day)!  All of these recommendations are contingent upon numbers still being in our favor and are subject to change.

We will not require masks for summer enhancement/school nor will we for the start of the 2021-2022 school year assuming the numbers continue to be favorable.

Some students will begin school in person for the first time this year beginning this week, I can't even imagine.  I am so proud of the Gorilla Family for handling this pandemic in such a positive way.  We might not all agree on whether to wear or not wear a mask or social distance, but the common ground we have is educating our children.  THANK-YOU for making this a priority.  It has made this year easier for all involved.  We have less than 40 days left and we are excited about the Spring experiences our students missed out on last year.  Keep up the great work and please reach out with any questions.
