Solomon High School’s Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter was recently recognized at the 74th Kansas FBLA State Leadership Conference for achieving the Second Largest Percentage Increase in Membership across the state, with an impressive 229% growth.

This significant accomplishment highlights the chapter’s dedication to expanding student involvement and creating opportunities for leadership, career development, and community engagement. The remarkable growth reflects the enthusiasm of Solomon High School students and the commitment of the FBLA program to making a positive impact both in and out of the classroom.

“Seeing this level of growth is a testament to our students’ hard work and their willingness to step up, get involved, and challenge themselves,” said FBLA advisor Rachel Livingston. “We are incredibly proud of what they have accomplished.”

The Kansas FBLA State Leadership Conference brings together students from across the state to compete, network, and be recognized for their achievements in business and leadership.

Solomon High School FBLA continues to build momentum and looks forward to further success as members strive to make their mark in their school and community.

We has a Wild time last night for an adventure‑themed evening full of stories, games, and Gorilla fun. Students gathered around as our elementary teachers brought "Where the Wild Things Are" to life with animated, joy‑filled read‑alouds.
From find‑n‑seek and adventure board games to coloring, snack‑making, and more, our little explorers had something exciting waiting around every corner.

Comp 11 class went to KSU on March 11th for a visit to Hale Library. They visited the Libraries Innovation Lab, made buttons and wood cutouts on the laser printer, got a library tour, and then made videos in the video lab. They ate at the Union, then did research on K-state’s computers for their research papers. It was a great day!!

Carnival Fun with STEM! 🎡
Our eighth graders have been working hard on carnival games where its all about chance!
They designed exciting games for elementary students to enjoy. Each game was a chance to learn about probability in a hands-on way. Thank you Mr. Jeffery for teaching a fantastic way to bring STEM concepts to life and foster teamwork and creativity!

With temps on the rise this week, here’s a fun, student‑approved activity to welcome the new season: Dry Ice Ice Cream 🍨✨
Our Culinary students put it to the test, and the verdict is in: it’s a win!

Recipe Rundown:
1 cup whole milk • 1 cup heavy cream • ½ cup sugar • 1 tsp vanilla
Then slowly blend in 1–2 lbs of powdered dry ice until frozen.

Lessons Learned: Add the dry ice gradually and give it time to work its magic.

Results: A fizzy, float‑like twist on classic ice cream — carbonated, creamy, and seriously fun.

Learn more about Solomon High School student, Brenden, class of 2026.

Brenden has been with Solomon during his whole primary and secondary journey. With a big love for hunting, Brenden is hopeful to turn that into a career. He currently interns with @shootNstuff in Solomon where he is learning taxidermy. He will go to Pratt in the fall and study Wildlife Management.
Brenden shouts out FACS teacher Katy Vinson for keeping culinary class interesting. He also shouts out his mom, Sara Kirby, a Kindergarten teacher with Solomon, for being a great support system.
He's dedicated time to sports and helping out the basketball team, even with a tight schedule. Coach Stein recently recognized Brenden on @KABItheGeneral for his dedication to student coaching in the 2026 season.
We're proud of the student Brenden has been and look forward to his journey awaiting him 🦍
