RE: Change in Attendance
Dear Solomon Gorilla Families,
We have been given recommendations to limit our capacity at home events from our county health officials. Due to our current numbers lower than surrounding schools, we feel in person attendance at home basketball games is still possible. Currently we have 2 positive cases and 10 on quarantine. As with the ever changing pandemic, this may change quickly. To be proactive, we will be limiting seating to home events by allowing only two adult tickets distributed to families. We will NOT be allowing anyone else in the facility. This is a change from a previous decision. We want to do our part in helping mitigate the rise of cases in the area, keeping it out of our facility as much as possible. We will only be allowing 1 ticket per player to our visitors for our home events. During our home events you will be asked to follow the guidelines below so we can continue to provide these extra-curricular activities for our USD 393 students: (We will revisit in January of 2021)
Face Masks must be worn at all times
Sit in family pairs with 6 foot social distancing in all directions from other spectators
Once your child has finished playing please leave the facility and take your child home with you.
Arrive just a few minutes before your child is expected to participate in the event.
Allow this to be about our kids and their love of the game to represent Solomon.
As well you can help reduce the risk of exposure to our students and your families by practicing the following:
Wear a mask properly.
Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If not available, use hand sanitizer.
Maintain social distancing of six feet.
Cover cough or sneeze with a tissue (and throw the tissue in the trash) or upper sleeve.
Avoid touching eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
Stay home while you are sick and avoid contact with others.
These are difficult times, but we feel school is the safest place for our students. We are NOT seeing transmission in school as most are coming from social interactions away from school. We are actively engaged in enforcement of our safety protocols and feel this is making a difference and allowing us to safely continue in-person instruction at this time. Please help us continue this practice by following the above guidelines. If you have questions please don’t hesitate to reach out.
